kann mir BITTE mal jemand sagen, wieso ich extra ein altes kinderliederbuch von 1948 zerfleddere, weil ich da ein lied gefunden habe mit dem titel "inmitten der nacht" und mir das passend für die neue challenge von take-a-word erscheint... und dann kann ich den titel nach der bearbeitung gar nicht mehr lesen?! und das ist ja nicht das erste mal, das mir das so geht, warum lerne ich nicht dazu?? hab dann den titel halt nochmal ausgedruckt...;)
PLEASE can anybody tell me why i slaughter an old children´s songbook, having found a song with the title "in the middle of the night", which seemed to fit the new take-a-word challenge - and after working on it i can´t read the titel any longer?! and it is not the first time this happens, why don´t i learn that?? so i had to reprint the title...;)

clean and simple: minimalismus

there were several challenges of this kind recently: stampotique asks for "clean and simple" and this week the crazy amigos also want to see: minimalism. so i gave it a try (because that really was a challenge!). and (well, i knew that before...) this is NOT my thing. too hard for me.
the background square (free "paint sample" from the hobby store) was only stamped with the donkey (one stamp, from stempelmine) and the teesha moore - alpha. couldn´t resist a framing with the neocolor crayon.

letztens gab es immer wieder diese "minimalismus" themen. da sowas für mich wirklich eine herausforderung ist, wollte ich es wenigstens mal probiert haben. tja, es hat sich bestätigt: das ist einfach nicht mein ding! fällt mir zu schwer.

sogar das square dafür brauchte ich nicht erst zuzuschneiden, kam fertig vom baumarkt aus der farbenabteilung. außer dem alphabet habe ich nur einen einzigen stempel benutzt: den esel von der stempelmine. musste dann allerdings noch mit einem neocolor stift umranden, sonst wär es mir einfach zuuuu nackt gewesen...

grundlage für dieses square war ein stück braille papier, das ich gelb eingefärbt habe. dann eine schablone mit sternen (von der stempelmine) draufgelegt und mit glimmer mist *sapphire* besprüht. die marilyn briefmarke habe ich via google gefunden, ebenso wie den spruch von ihr, den ich mit dem acme labelmaker ausgedruckt habe. ein paar hintergrundstempel, das wars auch schon...
basis for this square was a piece of yellow tinted braille paper. i took a stars stencil and sprayed it with glimmer mist *sapphire*. the marilyn stamp is googled, as well as her quote, which i printed with the acme label maker. a few background stamps, done...

i took a vintage ad for this challenge... because i´m shivering like this snowman. it is lousy cold here! but it was wonderfully sunny over the weekend and you needed sunglasses for a walk in the snow...

the 3 muses - "fashion" & wednesday stampers "inky backgrounds"

looking for a fashion-themed scrap was not that easy for me... i´m not a fashionista at all, it simply doesn´t interest me very much. but then i came across this picture and liked that devilish dress so much! it is a picture from an antikamnia calendar. these were produced at the turn of the 19th century by a chemical company (i found out about them a few years ago via the bibliodyssey blog, here are more of these pics: http://bibliodyssey.blogspot.com/2007/05/antikamnia-chemical-company.html ).

dieses thema war nicht ganz so leicht für mich (eine herausforderung halt;)), da ich mit mode reichlich wenig am hut habe. interessiert mich einfach nicht. aber dann kam mir dieses bild in die finger, und dieser teuflische umhang ist doch einfach göttlich *g*... das bild ist von einem kalender der pharma-firma antikamnia, die ende des 19. jahrhunderts ein paar jahre lang diese tollen motive herausgebracht hat. ich find sie einfach klasse!! (zum ersten mal davon gehört hatte ich vor ein paar jahren auf dem bibliodyssey-blog, der überhaupt schwer zu empfehlen ist!)

i also can take this as an entry for the wednesdaystampers´ "inky backgrounds". a challenge much easier, as actually almost all of my backgrounds are made with inks: often with diluted dye-inks from refills for stamppads (my favorites are vivid, adirondack, distress...), brought to paper with brushes or my own spray bottles. or i take store bought spray inks (glimmer mist, colorwash, outside-the-margins...)... for spraying i take stencils (bonus: you can make another, reversed imprint with the plastic) or masks, which i often make from motifs i cut with the bigshot. the cut-out is colored as well and can be used for another project.

i have heaps of these tinted backgrounds, because i love to make them on sunny days outside in the garden... i don´t like spraying in the house - even with big boxes around the paper i always get paint to places where i don´t want it... and the fun outside is that they are drying super fast!

viel einfacher war für mich die herausforderung der mittwochstempler. schließlich sind fast alle meiner hintergründe "inky"... ich verwende gerne verdünnte stempelkissen-nachfüllfarben (v.a. vivids, adirondack oder distress...), die ich entweder mit dem pinsel auftrage oder in leere sprayflaschen fülle. dann hab ich inzwischen auch einen großen fundus an gekaufen sprayfarben (glimmer mist, colorwash, outside-the-margins...), die ich meist entweder mit kunststoffschablonen benutze (vorteil: man kann die farbe drauf nochmal abklatschen und bekommt einen tollen seitenverkehrten abdruck) - oder ich schneide mir mit der bigshot motive aus, die ich als masken benutze. vorteil hier: die eingefärbten masken kann man später zu anderen zwecken gut wiederverwerten.

das sprayen mache ich allerdings am liebsten im sommer im freien, da schaffe ich mir immer große vorräte... ich spraye nicht gern drinnen (auch nicht in großen schachteln), denn irgendwie gelingt es mir immer, farbspuren dahin zu bringen, wo ich sie nicht haben will...
